Well I went and saw a wonderful variety of machinery - everyone seems to have personalised their car in some way. Some rather tasty porkers too. But no P1s. Where were you all?

There still arent that many P1's out there, they are getting delivered slowly but surely, maybe just a bit close to the event for them to make it ?

XRS,

The P1s (well....two) attended the Midlands meet / drive today! I was intending on going to Bentley today but was lured into the Midlands meet because of the distance from Nottingham and the numbers that were turning out for the drive! Hope you still had a good day.

Kevin,

Don't worry - it was an excellent day, and thanks to all those who organised it. You would be surprised, though at how many of us haven't seen a P1 yet, let alone drooled over one in the flesh

Dominic,

Great pictures, (so the 360 Mondial DID move, then). There was some really tasty machinery there (mine's too ordinary to feature, though). Did you get Markus's black WRX? He'll be upset if you don't mention it!

XRS,

Ian,I told Markus that the geese were dangerous (sorry I can't spell)and he just laughed at me and made fun off me.....I'm glad to see I was right (again)

I had quite a good time even though I didn't really know anyone.

Brendan,

Yes it was a 959 - very impressive. Only problem is that they were static displays (but must have been fun at going home time).

No P1's? What about the one on the back row next to the cool grey sti5 type R? OOps sorry that was another STI 5 Type R V-ltd, easy mistake to make though . Always nice to meet more people, and a good day for UK special additions - 3 RB5's, 2 Terzo's, a Catalunya and a 22B UK - shame we didn't get a group Photo .
Nice place and impressive collection of porkers. On the way there we saw 4 or 5 Ferraris too, including a F40(NICE) - musta been a prancing horse day somewhere too.
Very frustrating drives there and back though - roads were awful busy.

Mornin'

Just a quickie to say what a blast yesterday was. Awesome fun, espeically as I lead a small convoy of about 7 scoobs part of the way down, and two scoobs on the way back, made me feel so proud (until we 'lost' a few at the back!)

Anyway, fun was had by all, and Jam and Ali did not complain too much, and SuzyQ seemed to enjoy things as well.

Good to put a physical presence to the virtual ones as well.

Only concern is, and this might be because it was my first meet, but I was kinda expecting some sort of SIDC stand/tent type thing as this was an 'offical' SIDC event.

looking forward to the next one!!!! might even do a track day, but not for a while yet.

BTW - best laugh of the day goes to Emily(?), Chuckster's little girl, who kept getting into the 22b's driving seat and hitting the horn. She also adjusted the diff setting and turned off the I/C water spray! looks like we're starting them young these days!!!

Yeah, Emily is very advanced for her 12 month alive - she thinks auto-I/C spray is for wimps and prefers to use manual button.
Nice to see everyone wince in paint sympathy as she clambered in, dinging the sills, for the 10th time.
Apologies to the Porsche Club for her horn antics during the concours award ceremony.

James, was it just you and Andy on the way down ??As there were a few other enquiries.I did attend, you were next to the 2 x RB5's I believe.

I could only get 2nd row status!(must be an import thing).

I ended up with the wife and the 3 little ones bcoming with me, turned out to be a nice family day out.

Ian:
hmmm, airfield! sounds nice, if one was to attend then it would purley be as spectator. Will go and check my insurance though and see what it says about airfields as it might cover track days (due to them not being timed, not a race and national speed limit applies, but is NOT enforced ) but it might exclude airfields,

Doubt I'll come, but you never know.

before I forget. Did anyone else get sunburn/windburn at Bentley? I did!

Got home and SuzyQ asked if I was OK, I said yes, and asked why, she said, well your face is all red, I though at first it was due to the embarresment of having such a large and sad exhaust but no, it was sun/wind burn!!!! think I got a bit of heatstroke as well, but as those of you who met me can appreciate, it would be hard to tell

Poxy Eurostar! Broke down, so I got back to my house after 4pm rather than 2.30, far too knackered to get out to Bentley (due to being tear-gassed in Brussels at 2am!) though it's only five miles away. I thought you'd all be moving off by then, so I didn't bother. Sorry to miss it, looks like I flunked a great day.

Dom&Kim; awesome photos! Is that a 959?

XRS,

I chased a P1 at Cadwell Park on the 1st of June. Perhaps if you can get to a track day you might see one and perhaps talk yourself into a ride!

Phil,

I've got a good head for roads I've travelled and could probably do the Midlands meet again without the directions. Therefore, I had no problems reaching the M42.

Later

Kevin

Glad to hear it. You may well have shot down the same roads that I took you. Did you manage to change gear this time?

Ian -

Don’t know what time you arrived but I was parked in the second row. 2nd from the right (Red WRX MY95!) – but I did actually leave at 12 o’clock as I had to go home and revise for my CREST exam, which is on Wednesday!
