I am new to scoobies and have been offered an imported wrx type ra, 1994,m reg, 54,000 miles, looks immaculate and has aircon and elec windows and is in silver.
Is this a good price? Anything dodgy to look out for

Dont know about price (as not posted), but I am waiting for the first expert to say RA dont have electric windows and air con. as some do.

Did they do the early RA's in Silver???? I've never seen one.

Dont know about the colour but mine had Air con because it was the V-Limited version. not sure about the electric windows too ??

check aircon works as it can be expensive, start car from cold and see if theres any smoke (can be a sign of the turbo on the way out). Does it have a roof vent ?

or could an ra be converted to aircon and elec windows?

oh don't know about roof vent, should it have one? there is a vent on the bonnet
is there a good site which gives the spec of early ra's?

should have an aluminium bonnet - take a magnet with you

also check for no interior grab handles & boot light

i was part joking about the magnet, you should feel the weight difference anyway shouldn't have ABS either, A/C was an option but electric windows weren't (but could have been added later) gearing should be really close together if you test drive it - 80mph at 4000 in 5th

My MY95 1994 STI RA does 16.5mph per 1000 rpm, I have used a GPS speedo to check this. So it is doing 6000rpm at 100mph.

The model code should be GC8C47D, this can be found on the Fuji Heavy industry's plate on the N/S front inner wing next to the top suspension mount. I saw a few WRX's with RA stickers while looking for mine.

Engine code should be EJ20G DW4HJ.

If it is a RA then it's a fair price.

my 93 ra got ally boot, and bonet. elecy windows, mirrors, air con. when u bought the car u could specifi what u wanted.
