Question

Would appreciate some opinions.

Following a slight parking incident on the M25 my 02 WRX wagon(PPP)is in a less than roadworthy state.
I'm looking to replace with another scooby(doesn't need to be a wagon). Currently thinking of directish replacement with 02/3 WRX PPP or something abit more classic like an RB5 WR. I used to have a classic wagon so I've experienced the differing build quality and dynamics so just want to know what you people would do.

Thanks guys,
Monkey. (forever indecisive)

Cheers sickboy,
but if I go for another WRX I would want PPP on a UK car.
Come on people, give me some opinions;

WRX PPP quality build, performance, depreciation
RB5 WRS rarity, dynamics, good looks?

Interesting post - I've always had classics (albeit modded ) and have only test driven the various new models, but when I change my current MY99, I'll be looking around somewhat!!

I think it boils down to performance versus build quality. Granted, PPP will make the WRX quicker, but the RB5 is a "little" bit more exclusive. IMHO, not exclusive enough to make me go from a new age to a classic though. Sorry RB5 owners

Why not look at an older STi7/8 if you're entertaining the thought of a 4dr.

Either way, you've got the classic "kiddy in a sweetshop" scenario!!

Happy hunting

Dan

madisonmonkey.
Can you explain why it has to be a WRX PPP on a UK car.
The car on offer was built in the same factory as the UK car but instead on being deliverd to a UK port was sent to Belgium. My classic 00 was built and sent to Holland. I did not expect to get an inferior build coz of where it was going.
I may have missed something earlier on or not know to much but am confused.
cheers

UK car with PPP = no warranty issues and full dealer back-up.
I found that without PPP the WRX performance was not a match for my previous MY99 wagon. If I replace with another nearly new car I would want the warranty cover so PPP is the way to go.

Talking

If i were you I'd go for something along the lines of a my99 wagon in silver, I'm sure it would suit you down to the ground.
I know where you could get a real nice example, neglected by previous owner, but current owner has turned it around-she's a real beaut.
Alternatively you could try a toyota starlet, Mmmm.....

now't wrong with starlets. At least mines seen oil within the last 15000 miles. It's got tread on the tyres as well.

Loser.
