Two very different cars.
The WRX seems like a good price, have a look on parkers for an idea and see what they are selling for in the trader etc.
If the WRX has full service history and you can extend the warranty for a further 2 years, then IMO this would be a good car to buy, it could be like a new car and backed with warranty (providing its been well looked after).

The STI is faster and is the classic shape Impreza so lighter than the WRX as well.
Don’t know about the STI price and what not, someone else should be able to give info on this.

The newness of the WRX would really appeal to me, but so does the speed of the STI.
Depends on your position really, how sensible are you prepared to be?.
Cheers.
Ian.

I'd go for the STi but wouldn't pay that much. For a grand more you could get a good STi5

Being a tarted up STI5 driver (P1), I'd wait for a good deal on a 5 rather than go for a 4.

As for the classic vs new shape problem, it depends what you want.

In the old shape you basically get a serious kick in the back at about 3.5K revs. In the new shape, things are much smoother.

Personally, I love the incredible thrust of the old shape cars. But the new shape have there merits (epecially the T25!!).
