Just got new MY03 impreza. Was going to go down the import route of a Jap STi7 for £19999, but other half and what was said on here made me go to Bell and Colvill and dont regret it. Admittedly settled for a WRX not STi, but feel better with UK spec and dealer help etc. Also had first service (1000mile) and the car runs so much better....brilliant!!!

soldierscooby how did you find Bell & Colvill? I bought a WRX off them 6 months ago. I got a great deal on my part exchange, but found the service staff to be unhelpful and always trying to talk down to me.

Now move to Gatwick Subaru some nice chaps there

Tony

PS Are you a squadie? Im working in sunny Bordon at the moment.

As I said found the sales staff to be great I couldn't get any mats out of them but I did manage to get them at trade price in the end.

Im at SEME Bordon at the moment on a Tiffy course, then im posted to 4Bn REME Bordon arn't I lucky!!!!

By the way have you got any corrosion on your front brake callipers yet? Mine are realy bad. Gatwick Subaru had a look last week and I'm waiting for them to get back to me.

Tony

Ref Brakes..yes i have now you mention it...previous car was a Ford Puma (trying to sell if anyone interested! and used to have a lot of brake dust on front alloys but noticed a lot more on Subaru and i havent exactly been hard on them? Maybe a change of pads in future to stop corrosion?

Get some of that Tyre Black stuff from Halfords, clean your wheels and then give them a good coat of that stuff (be carefull as it makes everything as slippy as hell). Then when your wheels are covered in brake dust it will wipe off a piece of pish, give them another quick wipe over with Tyre Black and you will be sorted.
Only found this out after about six months of scrubbing mine, oh yeah, you may not be quite so chuffed with Bell & Colville when it comes time to sell/trade your car!!! (but no other Scooby dealer will be any better)!!

Cool

Tony, my my03 brake calipers corroded just before christmas, the dealer took photo's and when I chased it up they said Subaru were prepared to have them painted as a "Goodwill gesture" and are not prepared to replace the calipers at £800 a piece( I doubt this price very much), any way they have not got back to me with an appointment and i'm not to happy with having them painted anyway. This seems to be a common problem so they will not want to be replacing calipers on hundreds of cars. Post a thread if you will if you get a different response.
Still love her to bits though, best money I ever spent.

Cheers Deano.
