A Std P1 versus STi7/8PPP, I agree with WRX-sti but also depends on the Track and Driver
Two different animals ;( will achieve simular results IMHO

ive had a decatted p1 with 18's and big brakes and a sti 7 ppp, the p1 goes better low down, the sti is better higher up, sti has better brakes on the road, never tracked the sti , both very quick but in slightly different ways

I meant Std P1 or Sti7/8PPP out the box
which is a UK is
anything else isn't
or then you could start arguing a 420Bhp Sti7/8 versus a P1 ain't fair
or a 330Bhp P1 versus a STi7 ain't

Had both too.
Easier to have a little fun in the P1, but the setup of the car was such that it sometimes struggled for grip on the B roads.
STi8 PPP is quicker in a straight line, quicker cross country and far more stable in all road conditions.
I loved my P1, but I don't miss it.

test drove both cars and sti was quicker and better in most ways both top motors tho, but the p1 starting to show its age i thought especially as i had a classic when i tested them both so i bought the sti8 ppp and dont regret it.
