Ashwell, Baldock

Woke up this morning to find MY98 turbo 'gone' - a*******s had rolled it round the corner, trashed the locks, steering column, ICE, and added a nice finishing touch to the bonnet (v artistic - what talent...). Still the immobiliser defeated them and they didn't have the driving pleasure.

Thats bad news. What arseholes! just round the corner from me...what time did it happen? Was it parked in a public area or driveway? DiscLock are effective at keeping the ***** at bay.

I have heard a number of scoobs have been stolen or attempted stolen in the Hitchin area too.

my mate fits fing mental alarm systems, maybe you need one if they got to your sounder, they're 180db by the car and seriously knacker your hearing for about 10 minutes if it goes off next to you !

If you go down the tuns and speak to the landlord (darryl), he sells cctv cameras which go into your home PC www.ezcctv.com, well useful if your as paranoid as I am !

Thanks for the sympathies, folks. This is the first time in >10years that I've had theft/malicious damage so I guess I was long overdue.

CCTV, tracker etc may be on the (new) Christmas list..

Heard that somebody broke into Quenbies the other day as well and stole a WRX so sounds as if there might be a gang in the area at the moment tring to steal scoobies.

Don't worry though somebody noticed them breaking in and rang the police and it only took them 2 hours to turn up !!!

 

that was quicker than when my scooby had the rear spoiler nicked, they took two days to turn up, yer they can afford big unmarked merc cars etc.....and then did a drugs raid on pembroke road and found not only drugs but loads of stolen car parts (inc my spoiler) buried in a newly dugpit in the garden.. to$$ers..

but ASHWELL? Crikey, we were looking round there a few years ago & didn't seem to be the sort of place to have car crime

 

Yep, sleepy Ashwell is also infected with the car crime epidemic. Judging by the mess they made of my mota (and the fact that they couldn't get it started)these were amateurs/joy riders.

After some negotiation with the Missus I will be re-deploying the baby monitor for 'listening' to the inside of the scoob in future..

 

I'm local(ish) and come down that way regularly to visit friends in Litlington.

I heard also that a WRX got robbed from the dealer in Baldock recently too

 

i feel gutted for you. i know how id feel i some one did it to my GT6.

Most of us in Ashwell own shotguns and wax jackets !!! So they were very lucky...
