I am buying a Secs 1003 unit for my MY00 Turbo. I am considering buying one of the above as an extra precaution but funds at the moment don't let me buy both.
Currently Full de-cat system with HKS Induction Kit and possibly a Tek2 in the future.
Thanks.
Basically which one do you recommend?

Would a Lambalink not show a defect from the induction kit better or before a knocklink. Where's the best place to get a knocklink?
Thanks

KnockLink definitely, especially bearing in mind you've got an induction kit on an MY00...

The Lamdalink will show you the voltages your lambda is sending your ECU. It could well indicate a potential problem with your MAF. But more often than not, assuming everything's working OK, it's just your own private mini disco. And even if you're running slightly leaner than you should be, it doesn't necessarily mean you're detting. For instance, you're on the motorway, doing a steady 85mph. You floor it in 5th. You glance at your...

A. Lamdalink. It tells you 0.85v. What do you do? Back off because you think it should be higher, and you might be detting? Or continue accelerating...?

B. Knocklink. No activity. You continue accelerating, reasonably confident that you're not detting. Then a bit further on, you get a big red light. You back off. Simple.

The Knocklink isn't perfect, but it gives you a pretty good advantage over not having one. As to where to buy from, got mine in a group buy from BR Developments.

Regards,

Ade.

Good choice! Let's just hope you don't ever get to see the "big red light" whilst driving...
