#1
I have narrowed my search down to these two but just cant decide. I know tne 400 has more pixels and better zoom, but can anyone on here advise as to which of the 2 is the best?

Links to specs and various owners' opinions of both camerashere.
Full review of the Ixus 400 here.
I've never used either, so it's the usual advice of 'get down to your local camera store and play with both'. Don't be swayed by the difference in pixel count - either sensor will exceed the resolving capability of the lens it's behind. That said I'd personally prefer the versatility of the 3x zoom on the 400 despite its extra appetite for memory cards.
For what it's worth, my office just recently bought an S45, which is a marvellous little device (although maybe a bit on the big side compared to an Ixus). It offers a full range of manual controls which, if you're anything like me, you'll be playing with within a couple of days and totally dependent on within a week...

There's loads at £299.99 - even Comet and also Amazon
They're great little cameras - I bought one for my wife recently. What I did was printed out the web pages & Jessops price matched it. They will only match a UK site, but for the extra £1 it's worth it to get your hands on in straight away.
You will also want a bigger CompactFlash card - I usually use Value Media (again, don't pay Jesspos prices). I got 256Mb which will be fine for something in excess of 250 pictures.

I have just ordered the 400 from Amazon along with 512MB Card, Carry Case, and Li Ion Battery upgrade! The extras added a bit to the overall price but I figured I would have needed em eventually anyway. P1 according to the dimensions given on Amazon both cameras are the same size. Thanks for all the advice folks.
