How do you work out MPG??
Hello
How do ya work out a cars MPG???
Ive got this book that sez 20ltrs is 1 gallon???
that means the turbo cars only do about 70mls to a tank???
obviously wrong, but would like to compare mine to a uk scooby. also wanna work out running an import to see how much more they cost over a uk car.
thanks in advance

fill up, zero the trip meter, drive say 150 miles, then fill up again, make sure its to teh brim both times, then however much you fill up with the second time, say 10 gallons, and youve done 150 miles it would be 10mpg

Reset your trip counter at fill up.
Drive around as normal till you need more juice.
Lets say you have done 200 miles and to fill your car up you put in 46 litres.
Divide 46 by 4.546 to get gallons - in this case = 10.118 gallons
Now divide your milage by the gallons = 200/10.118 = 19.76mpg

Not without knowing how hard you drive your car. As a very rough guess though, if you're getting 25mpg out of your BM, you probably won't get much more than 20 out of a JDM WRX or STi. Plus, as mentioned, you'll have to add the cost of octane booster on.
do you have to have octane booster for import cars, if so, then ill stick with a uk turbo.
i dont drive hard, more of a corner man, as normally drive at rush hour times, and you always get some slow idiot in front and have to ovetake!!!!
ps what does JGM mean???

yep - the combined figure Subaru quote for MPG must have been with a pensioner (or StickyMickey) driving!
I've keep trying to go steady like SM but that little devil on my shoulder keeps telling me to put my foot down - the little b@stard.
Best I've had is 28mpg but it's painfull and low 20's is my usual combined with quite a bit of motorway driving
