Being a bit of a newbie with scooby ownership, Im not quite sure what the differance is with the setup and performance of the 3 models. Which is the fastest and which is the most desirable? I saw a P1 in a Subaru dealers the other day and it looked like a older design than the standard scoob but looked the biz also. I know the former models are a limited run but what else is differant?

I just bought my second P1. It looks the dogs, goes very well and like booby said, holds its value in the long run.

rb5 is the slowest of the 3 p1 the quickest unless sti has ppp which it would be very close between these two.my opinion is the p1 looks the best of the 3 the rear lights ruin the new sti but looks the dogs from the front that vent is simply awesome.

only thing is with the sti you will have to pay the ppp unless already fitted (second hand) which will cost about an extra 2k

I went for P1 as it is my favourite. Used to have a MY01 WRX but no longer needed all those doors :-)

IIRC the P1 is an STI 5 Type R. A 1000 were imported by Subaru UK and given to Prodrive to fettle. Have a look on www.p1woc.co.uk for more details.

Had an RB5 WR Sport and loved it!

Test drove a P1 and wasn't at all impressed, the front end with those driving lights looks very iffy and the grey added to the interior made it look substandard compared to the RB5.
Performance differential wasn't significant enough to even entertain the notion of changing regardless of price. So stuck to my RB5.

Now have an Sti8 and will be getting the PPP added at the first service imagine it to be slightly quicker than both the RB5 and P1, and with WRSport suspension and wheel/tyres setup - the best of the three, although not in terms of exclusivity.

Cool

Having owned both a P1 & a STI8 PPP, i would go for a P1 with a big brake conversion.

Just got back from TSL (got my fuel pump uprated) looking at getting a re-map with them, round trip of some 250 miles. I don't feel tried or jarred as you would in a Focus RS or Civic Type r (both I've owned) Coming back I just really liked the car! Now know what I mean when everything just comes together and you just think "what a F**KING great car! Sti 8 full de-cat uprated fuelpump and counting.

why not? with the WR/PPP enhancement it was dam close!!!

oh and the RB5 is a MUCH more limited edition then the P1

RB5 - 444
P1 - 1000

best thing about the P1 IMO is that its a 2 door, i much prefer the look of that to the 4 doors

compshack - I gather you went for the STi8, good choice.

Having owned a MY'00 UK turbo, P1, MY'01 WRX, MY'02 GX and now the STi8 myself, IMHO you have made the right choice. I've already proved to myself that the STi8 (PD springs) corners better than the P1, well the way I drive anyhow!

Yes Dr Evil I have a STi 8. I think it's the best car I have ever had, and I've had a few. Obviously the scoob has evolved from the older models and it's only going to get better!

The power of a P1, the simalar looks of a P1 but the great colours inside and out of a RB5.
(plus people can get in the back and not kick the skirts)
