Bought the pioneer 106 recently and decided to watch a dvd today,
I'm using win dvd (as it was pakaged along with motherboard a few months back) but I can't seem to out put the signal to the tv.

I can out put the desktop to the tv by,
desktop > properties > settings > advanced > displays

But this just outputs the low res image of whatever is on the desktop!

The card is a 9800Pro and I'm using the s-video socket / lead to output the signal !

You will probably find that it is something like the Macrovision Protection is on, therefore you can not output the signal onto a TV etc...

Not sure how to resolve it for you though.

so I need a monitor the size of a house to watch a dvd then ?

Yup I find my 32" widescreen monitor does the job nicely though

I've never really looked into sorting it for a Radeon, as I am still using my old failthful Matrox G400 Dual Head.

I'm sure that there are a few answers out there on how to resolve it though.

I have a creative dvd rom drive and a creative CT7240 controller card here, which I have gathering dust from my old machine, that worked nicely !
anyone know if this controller card would work with the pioneer dvd writer ?

I'm hoping it's just a software issue though as I don't really want to use this card...

Could be for sale if I get the current setup working
