Have you been offered cheap parts in West Yorks, particularly MY99/MY00 lights or wheels?

If so, please think carefully about their source...

My car was in for a 10k service at KT Greens (main dealer) today, a nd whilst there the police were there...

KT Greens had parts stolen from cars left outside last night. The thieves had wheels, various lights from MY99/MY00, grilles from MY99/MY00, side repeaters and other bits nicked. The thieving ******* even smashed the rear lights and stole just the indicator bulbs after failing to get the rear light clusters out

Interestingly, they also nicked front indicators from a MY98 (different style bumper)... which suggests they're halfway through a facelift?

I'm sure KT Green would appreciate any information... I was seething to see the mess these turds had made, and it isn't the first time it's happened apparently . So if a set of wheels, or lights, seems to cheap then there's a reason for it

Cheers,
Nick.
PS - I didn't feel quite so bad for 'em after I saw that they'd charged me 59 quid plus VAT for 45 minutes labour!

Nick,

Strangely enough, last night some dodgy-looking West Yorkshire geezer offered me MY00 parts for sale in a pub car park, in particular front door cards.

Having now read this post, on reflection they did seem rather cheap so I am wondering if they are of dubious origin...............

Seriously Steve(Scooby New), you know Nicks are from his old car, this is becoming quite a problem for some of the dealers.

I now can not drop my car off for servicing before 8:30 due to security reasons!!

I suspect they will have been taken "to order" and wont readily appear on "the market". However, if you don know anything contact either myself, Chiakr, or David Wallis by email or K T Green direct.

Steven,

Yes I know Nick's were from his old car and my post was entirely in jest given the timing of our exchange. I was in no way trying to suggest that Nick would sell goods of dubious origin. Perhaps my humour was misplaced given the seriousness of the subject matter.

Steve, sorry not misplaced from me, just clarifying for others.

Sorry, could have phrased my reply a little better.

The vaguely reassuring thing (if you see where I'm going with this) is that it isn't just Subaru dealers... Another brand garage was targeted last night for the same sort of treatment

Apparently, this is a "victimless crime" - but who do you think pays ultimately?

Out of interest, would the garage/garage insurance have to stup up? Often worry about mine when at dealers because sometimes they will park it in a carpark over the road - and they usually prefer the proactive part of my tracker to be disabled...

If you've left the car in their care, IMHO yes without doubt. These were KT Green's cars for sale on their forecourt. Being September 1st, there wasn't much space in the showroom...

My car was from kt greens along time ago 95 in fact which was purchased by the previous owner. They are a good bunch down there been to get some bits now and again and they are very helpful lads especially Glenn, Any way my sympathy and hope you get the place sorted soon.
