I was wondering the same thing. I can only guess that its all to do with sideways motoring!.

the basic idea is to keep the car sideways, without having full traction but still have full control, through a series of corners. generally easiest to do in a rwd car with but can be done in any car.

check my post for a link of a drifting video, and theres a couple more here and here.

Thumbs up

This is the same bit of circuit Autocar used for their sideways challenge last year.(and again on Sept 19th)

To win you will have to be sideways through the whole complex, not just the corners

And here:

And ignore the links at the bottom - just use this one for the video:

About 20Mb, but worth the download!

Cool

Last year was the first year "amateurs" were invited.
Majority were M3s, all cars were RWD.
Amateur winner was a 16yr old in a 635 CSi :O

That beemer was perfect.

LWB, wide torque band, softly sprung.
It just sort of rolled over into a steady state, stable as you like.

Scoob with an adjustable centre diff would be good.....

Not my sport, but it was fun for a fiver.

Scoobys have to much grip for this sort of thing, ok for the 200sx and Beamer boys
