Can anyone recommend a good and cheap paint shop to do some machine polishing and a few scratch repairs in the London/South East area?

Call Darcy on 01702 461955... I've used them for colour coding the black bits and painting my WRC front end and STi splitter. And will use them again...
when doing the colour coding they even noticed a little crease I hadn't spotted in the rear bumper and took it out for me...
