A bit grey area on this one depends on which model year. Also official figures are 0-62mph (100kmh) so are few tenths slower than the car actually is

Heres my automotive findings from various sources....

oficially: 6.4sec (But this is 0-62mph)
Autocar in 1998 did 60mph in 5.5sec
Top gear did it in 5.2sec
Performance car did it in 5.03sec!!

BTW these are UK classic figures - MY unknown. But most are pre-98

I recorded a 5.72 when my car was standard on a banzai test mid 2001. I am sure it could of been better but I was being careful of the clutch.

Dave.

still you must admit that is pretty quick and the difference a whole second makes is a hell of a lot more pin back in the seat

Just had a look for a scooby on the 1/4 times, and found this:

240 - Dal 1996 Subaru Impreza Sti 0 0 0 0 0 17.99 0 Street

That's an 18 second 1/4 mile! What a dope, my old Cav Gsi had 2 seconds on that!

What happened there then - I thought even a MY00 classic Turbo (not STi) could beat that by a few seconds... Did they forget to change up or something? Or have a knackered clutch, or ....

A standard 208bhp classic UK turbo will run ~14.5 second quarter. A 280PS STI ~13-13.5 seconds.
