I'm viewing a STi Version 6 Type R tonight, I'm looking for a little advice as to what I should be looking out for, especially advice on the centre diff control.

1). History,History, History..
2). Check that's been run on optimax and any octane boosters etc
3). When you turn the engine over, it should turn over evenly.
4). recommend a compression test to ascertain a) correct internals b) healthy engine
5) Check for leaks around rear lights
6) Check all body panels are correct i.e. alu bonnet etc

If you're not familiar with Type R's - find someone who is an take them along if poss

The car has never been run in Japan, it was imported from new and has only been run on Shell Optimax by current second owner. Been serviced by a Subaru dealer for 1.5 years and they have said it is mechanically sound, in fact the advertised it for the seller as he is buying an STi-8
