Could some of you please let me know what the recommended psi's are for running on 17s please? Had my car a few weeks now and it has 17s on it and want to check the pressures tonight. I've read that Prodrive recommend 33 psi for the fronts and 30 psi for the rears. Is this the best to go for or does anyone else do differently???

Many thanks

Dan.

P.S - Moderators, I did post this under Wheels, tyres & brakes but got no replies and am needing a quick answer so please leave here for a little bit please! Thanks.

The pressures on my MY01 WRX follow the handbook guide of 33 psi front and 31 psi rear.

That on 215/45/17

For the road Dan, I put 33 all round.

There is a thread saying the police in Milton Keynes raise them I think to 35psi due to the huge amount of roundabouts there.

Well I did just that Spoon and I've been out and put 33 in all round so I'll see how that feels in the morning. The rears were on 25 when I just checked them! Is there any particular reason why you do 33 all round and why nobody seems to go by the Prodrive recommended pressures?

No particular reason Dan except I prefer 33.

Are you running the same as me 215/45/17 or 40?

To be honest I didn't check! They're the Prodrive PD7 rims with the usual Pirelli P-Zeros they fit with them if that helps?!

At a guess if they are original they'd be 45's but it is a guess.

Won't make any odds anyway, was just curious as again I think the 40's are a little harsh.

Well I'll see how they feel tomorrow then maybe drop the rears to 30 tomorrow night as Prodrive say and see which I prefer. Thanks a lot for your help on this tonight.

No probs Dan, remember in the heat on long journeys the psi will increase anyway, so 30 maybe better if we have a summer and distances are covered.
