Stopping a warrantied wagon???
warranty friendly = Prodrive via your Subaru dealer (end of story, officially
)
did Subaru supply a set of uprated pads as an alternative without going for the full brake upgrade?

Gents,
I know it's been done a million times before, but what are my warranty friendly options for brake upgrades on a MY2000 wagon with standard rims.
Had the car a few months now and the stopping power leaves a lot to be desired, also do the last of the classics suffer with the master cylinder/bulkhead flex problem or was that on earlier cars?
Your input and advice would be gratefully received.
Dave

[open can of worms]
MY experience with brakes & Subaru warranty...
I replaced the standard 4-Pots on my MY99 with SS Brembo kit when the car was just under a year old.
I had some warranty work carried out a couple of times & as the work carried out was un-related to the brakes, then had absolutely no problems from IM/Subaru UK
One of the warranty items was n/s/f hub bearing & even when the warranted item was close enough to possibly be argued that the brakes had in some way affected it, was not a problem.
This is MY experience, but I've always found IM/Subaru reasonable when it comes to these matters. Poss different if I stuck a Full De-Cat & a Dawes & the engine melted...

Thanks Apple & Puff,
Think the best course of action is to speak to my local service chappie and see what I can get officially, or get away with unofficially.
Don't suppose anyone knows if later model brake kits (03 STI) fit onto classics?
Cheers for the replies.
