Question

For those of you who saw it in the flesh, what did you think?

I could appreciate the hard work and money that had been spent on the car, and I understand that its an advert for his company, so he has to use products he is trying to sell.

But I thought personally that he had ruined the car, am I alone?

Check in the members gallery mate. There is a big convo about this. Some people liked it and some people said he ruined it.

Like you said, its all about advertising. You may not like everything that has gone on it but i bet you look at it and think i wonder if TSL can do that part to my car or i wonder if they can help here.

It`s all about getting noticed on the road (advertising) and there`s one thing for sure it does that.

Somebody`s even started a thread about it, so it`s throwing the company name around. I agree though it does look a little OTT.

I saw it coming towards me the other day at Clay Cross from a distance and thought what the hell is that. Can you remember Paul I flashed my lights?

people are talking about it, that's for sure.

So it's working as advertising

But it isn't to my taste anymore. he's taken a thing of great beauty and, erm, "changed" it.

It's a little like a dimma kit on a 205 gti...

Don't forget it can be put back to standard easily
It does it's job very well as an advert for TSL, and apart from the rear clusters i quite liked it.

No it's not, I like Dimma'd 205's

Who read the feature in Jap Performance? Death threats and boycotting the company? I'm not surprised

Personally, the only things that "ruin" it are the rear lights and spoiler, bearing in mind it's an advertising vehicle. Obviously the graphics are OTT, but they need to be to be effective.

It looks "Max Power" to me. This as far as I'm concerned cheapens the image of TSL who through scoobynet I previously always had the impression of a serious and professional outfit. I know that is only the perception I get but surely it is the point of advertising to give you an impression of a company or product.......even if it is not always the case.

I think they call it 'Guilding the Lilly', not to my taste.

As for any advertising is good advertising then not in todays marketplace, people are more discerning and to modify/whatever a classic car such as the 22B is a bit sad, they would have been better off doing this to another model/variant. Just because you have all the toys does not mean that you have to fit them to one car, what was that comment, looks like it had been coated in glue and dragged backwards through Halfords.

Having you bollocks and **** painted bright yellow with neon markings will get you noticed but is that how you want to be remembered.

Heh, it's just an opinion

I think TSL do a lot of good stuff and are a helpful bunch so not having a go at them as a company. Just - Modding the 22B - LEAVE IT!!!

I agree, well said Paul.

I own my own business and would not want that type of image, but saying that TSL seem to be doing well and good look to ya!

Totally agree with Paul Habgood.

Ruined an inspirational car. Those mods could have been done to any classic shape - from what I've read in Japaneese Performance car mag he wanted a solid engine to start on but the body mods have totally shattered the car for me. I know everything is reversible but if it ain't broke don't fix it!!

Max

PS have liked the other cars he's modded for advertising so no disrespect to the TSL.

Having seen it in the flesh i think that it loses some of the 22B's aggressive looks purely because the ****ty stickers hide (to a degree) the wide arches etc. A standard 22b seems to have more 'presence'. Plus the lexus lights really are bad...... there were quite a few with these at the NBO, various colours and they all looked ****e IMHO .

I looked at Adges car then walk straight over to TSLs car, both 22Bs and I know which one I would have.
I am not against mods, I have a few myself I like them, but some people dont.

The way I saw it was like this, if I see a fit girl with a smallish tattoo on the base of her back I think, now thats nice.

If I see a fit girl with a large tattoo on her forehead I think ******* he11..........

Just a thought...

Surely a 22B demands enough notice itself, the TSL one looked sh**e and didn't even look like a 22B so what's the point in totally spoiling one?

Marketing excercise, my ****, did you see the fish eyes in the carbon and the gaps in the body work?

Maybe by creating the ultimate rally warrior for the road from an STI 5-8, using all of TSL's motorsport genious would of been money more wisely spent? Not a hint of sarcasm there!

"There's one worse thing than being talked about and that's not being talked about".

How can something so expensive look so cheap?

I personally think it looks awful. The only mods that I would want to see on a 22b without looking to closely are uprated brakes, exhaust and maybe a FMIC.

Anders?

Have you ever thought about neon washer jets? Would set your car off a treat.
