Save Picture as in IE HELP PLEASE!!

When I right click on an image on a website and select Save Picture As on my workstation the dialog show File Type as JPG. On another machine I have it shows BMP 
So I tried using Save Target as instead and that shown JPE 
I am confused, can anyone tell me why its fine on one machine and different on another. They are both Win XP Pro amachines with IE 6. I can only put it down to a software package on one machine which is not on the other.
