Anyone interested in getting it together at Milton Keynes again, but this time the RS boys against the Scooby girls (4wd and all that )?

Surely we can organise something together in the next few months (when the weather improves)....

This should not be confused with an **** which is some 80's FORD or something.

What kind of karts do they run at Milton Keynes? Not being local, I don't know what the circuit is like either.

 

Twin engined Pro-karts.....(quite quick, but are you sure you lot can handle rear wheel drive! ).

We'll have an advantage down the straights. Those baseball caps generate a lot of drag at high speeds!

Be interesting to find out what these twin engined karts go like - I'm currently racing a 2-stroke 100cc kart in an endurance series, and believe me these feel bloody quick.

Any ideas on dates etc? I think you can see the details on

 

The twin engined karts at Milton Keynes aren't good for those of us challenged in the weight department. 2 strokes are for the men

 

I'm up for it.

In fact I'm racing at Daytona tonight, and I'll pick up an events Calendar.

Looks like a wet race - challenging on slicks - the karts just understeer straight on unless you kick the back out under power or go in with the brakes hard on.

Daytona is now part of Brands Hatch Leisure, and last time I was there they had digital dashboards with last lap time, laps completed, time to the kart in front etc. - Not that we had a chance to use the latter as my team led flag to flag! LOL.

PS Luck played a BIG part in that race!

These are the people I race with (Canary Wharf Challenge). They are well organised and use a variety of circuits as anyone can see from their website. Karts are brand new this season and seem very quick to me

I'll dig out my blurb and see if they are available for hire and what the options are.

After trying my dad's friends 2 stroke karts which scared me #@*#less (slicks on a damp track) 4 strokes don't have the same excitement anymore!! The 4 strokes at MK struggle up the back straight with my weight and they haven't got the power to steer on the throttle like a 2 stroke. I've been looking into buying a 2 stroke since Rye House track is about 10mins up the road. All day practice for £25 owner/driver can't be bad. The tuning options for them are relatively cheap also. 26bhp in a 75kg kart looks good to me I think that betters even Mr Rainbirds power to weight?

Slicks in the wet was my first introduction to these amazing little machines

I weigh c14 stone but the kart still goes like stink with me in it, even off the mark.

I'll be at Rye House early this Saturday making a complete prat of myself again.... but it is bloody good fun, completely addictive and remarkably safe
