Hi all,

I have a 95WRx and I am running an Apexi ECU, I went into monitor mode using the Apexi Commander and the intake Air Temp wasn't registering a value.

Does this mean its fecked, more importanty is it likely to cause the ECU to read incorrect air flow and density into the engine ?

A MAF sensor is used to calculate air flow into the engine by heating a wire to a certain temperature, as the wire cools more current is required to keep the wire at the particular temperature, but does the Air temp sensor also used along with the MAF to calculate flow.

Thanks

I don't think your car has an IAT sensor. This being the case the ECU will probably ignore this. The IAT is used on some STi models, but the tables in the ECU are based around boost control and unpopulated.

Thanks John - top man

Whilst we are on the subjest of air flow.

I have looked at the Link ECU and the load values in the map are pressure based(MAP sensor).

On my Apexi kit it is MAF based, just wondered though, what are the load values measured in, they range from 0 - 17000 odd.

Thanks again

Most likely it is an arbitary scale. New Age Impreza ECUs express airflows as real quanitities - in grammes per second - typically in the range 200-300 on full power depending on model and mods.
