All i can see is ££££££££....whats gone wrong....one min no sound at all next min sounds like the motherin law at a christmas party..

runs fine through the gears though, drives perfectly, just on over run as you come to a halt.......1st and a little in 2nd..

Mine does it too (MY93 WRX) and the gearbox feels a little "tired" (doesn't self-centre, bit notchy and crunchy on all gears). It isn't terminal but probably is a sign of wear. I plan on a rebuilt gearbox in the next 12 months. As long as 1st, 5th and reverse don't go completely, I'll drive it )

 

£££££££££££££££££ then..........gutted...time for an sti box then...lol

i had the same problem on my MY 95 whineing in 4th took it in and was told it's wear and tear and to change the oil may be that will do the trick , tried it but still there was still there when i sold it . just turn the radio up

Mine whined when I first got it... There was no oil in the gearbox

 

managed to source an STI box today £450......only done 4k on the box, so not a bad deal all round.......



would love to turn the radio up but i aint got one.......do have a full HKS setup though.....much nicer than radio 1....lol
