Unhappy

Does anyone have a phone number for Superchip?
I need to find out if one has been fitted to mine by a previous owner.
I presume the consensus of opinion would be to have it removed if this was the case.

Pull the carpet back in the passenger footwell, undo the bolt, remove the metal plate and have a look. It will be a little black superchips box with wires going into the ecu !

Can i just say, I had one in a 98 wagon and run it for 25,000 miles with no hint of a problem.

I'm not saying its the best on the market, There are plenty better.

Phone superchips and they will tell you what they told me, You should never have a problem.
Also spoke to the guy from falkland performance ( now at calder motors i beleive) who also gave me good review of the superchip.

I reckon the wagon was making about 240bhp, Which was a very usfull gain, And maid it easier to drive round town with less shunt.

chris.

My 2p's worth.

I had a MY98, it got a superchip via my dealer, sold it with 36K on the clock without any problems at all.

I then got another uk car, MY00, sold it last April with 34K, again no problems.

However the guy who installed it did tell me that he would never put a superchip in a Jap import, only UK cars.

I'm also not saying that these are the best things to go for, I just hear all sorts of reports about them blowing up cars etc, but I never had a problem in 4 years or so with them.

My freind's got a Vectra V6, and was told that a superchip would half the life of his engine.

St Andy, I sugest that your friend with the Vectra goes to another tuner, this one either doesn't know about the product or doesn't like it for some reason 'not enough profit in it maybe?'

St Andy, lol! The Superchip gains on an NA car are minimal (and in some cases hardly noticable) to say the least, so the motor is hardly more stressed than standard (assuming the mappings OK)

Thanks one and all.
Only found out today the extent of the mods.
Thought I'd bought a basically standard car.
Now I've got to tell the insurance co.
