What do you do when you pull up next to a Subaru?
I wave, nod and flash Scoobys all the time that are heading in the opposite direction, but today pulled up next to one at some traffic lights, glanced over and he glanced over but what do you do? smile, thumbs up? it just felt awkward and he seemed the same....
Or should I have just looked ahead and raced him....

From: R.I.P Piphead, at least you are home now :(
Carry a Crash Helmet on your passenger seat, so the next time you pull along side a scoob at the lights, look the driver straight in the eye, then put your crash helmet on

Could have played it that way, we were sitting under a railway bridge, mine was rumbling away (how they do in tunnels and he had two little standard pipes!) but I was thinking more of being friendly to a fellow scoob owner.

In my experience every scooby owner I've pulled up next to has wanted to play - where conditions permit. I know what you mean though because it is awkward. If you put the thumbs up and he/she isn't an enthusiast then you'll look a right prat!!

When someone pulls up alongside me (in another Impreza) I always look like I'm going to race, rev the engine etc. Then laugh as he dumps his clutch/wastes a load of SuL. I always do a granny start and let them scream off into the distance. I'm pretty sure I know what my car can do and don't feel the need to "prove" it to some Ned in a hugely bewinged MAX Power mobile.
Now if your talking what would I do on a wide twisty mountain road that is *playtime*

Had a chat with the guy next to me at the lights last week. Said hello, complimented the car... and then tried to burn him off!!
Girlfiend thought it was very odd talking to complete strangers at the traffic lights!
Little does she know!

Usually just smile
You look like a **** if you try and race them and they've actually got 400bhp or you end up looking like a little boy-racer
lol! ...usually a leisurly start and then a "spirited run" if they're up for it

It is fun with new STis because I absolutely cream them with about double the power to weight ratio when they think they'll win. Go for it every time if it is a bloke and safe to do so. Somehow feel a little inhibited if it is a lady
as she would probably correctly think I was a bit of a neddy ****.

happened to me last week, a casual glance over, then looking straight ahead, pull off on just about near stall tick over and gently pootle up the road like an old granny, whilst letting the green impreza 'unmarked' police car, drive into the distance. hmm.

Lol @ Marky-San
Dont see the point in being unfriendly, we are all Scooby lovers and that should be good enough to get along with one another. I did see one guy at the Shell station near South Brent and he could not even bear to look me in the eye let alone acknowledge another Scooby owner. His young lady gave ne a nice smile though.
Nothing wrong with a bit of a cruise in company either. All part of the fun I say.

Yep, I'm with Leslie - if they are at all friendly, a cruise is well worth it - brings a smile to everyone's face. Summer's almost here so a whole lotta fun's gonna be had cruising around with the flat four sound.
Scooby cruise anyone?

Scooby cruise anyone?

lol @ johnb ... bet that is quite funny. Whats your car like
John will probably say its 'ample' which loosely translated means fooking quick
(full decat, front mount, meaty turbo, Cray supercomputer ECU and mapped to perfection)

Then as Saxo Boy says, dial up 3k and get ready just in case
