As far as I know your can write to the DVLA with details of the car and a fee, they will advise the registered owners details.

Unhappy

tap his reg no and car make into the autotrader website. If there is a prob with HPI then it will be bounced. I accept the fact that you may not have full details of the car.
Good luck and best wishes
Steve

Good work
Did he not offer any kind of explaination?
The chances are that he will get toasted for leaving the scene of an accident which is very much frowned upon by insurance companies.

Glad you got the idiot..

Had a bit of a worry then as my Red escort's reg is very very similer and had to do a double take of the reg you posted up...but then my escort is in the garage fully stripped down, but you never know if people copy your reg.

hope it all gets sorted.

Suby Claire

I think you're very brave tracking that moron down...when you confronted him, a nasty 'situation' could have ensued...

Well done though!!

I was involved in a hit and run yesterday at about 6pm. It happened on the A339 heading towards Newbury from Basingstoke, just past the Star pub. If anyone saw anything, please could you let me know, as I have no witnesses (despite 4 or 5 other cars being around…nobody stopped).

Also, if anyone spots a red Ford Escort, reg F77 HJO, please could you let me know, particularly if you see it park outside a house! The driver has 28 days in which to respond to a police notice of intent to prosicute. This gives him ample time to get MY paint off his car and deny even being involved.

I have a DBM MY2000 Impreza turbo (old style) now with interesting paint effect on front bumper. I think there was a silver Toyota Celica there too. I was overtaking the Escort and was level with his front wing. He pulled out without indicating. I hooted, braked and pulled as far out of his way without going into the ditch on the other side of the road. Instead of pulling back in, he continued to pull out into me, and overtook a few more cars before "zooming" off. I stupidly pulled over and assumed he'd stop!

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

A bit of a long shot, if you did a HPI check on his vehicle with the AA for instance, could you not get his address? You could then take camera to his house and take photos.

Or, if you phone your insurance company, can they do a trace on the vehicle for you? you have the reg number.

Just a thought

J

Edited - Oh yeah, got pics of damage to his car too!
