Does anyone know of a decent anti-hijack device which will work with the standard MY99 sigma alarm?

Similarly will a turbo timer interfere with the alarm?

The standard Sigma alarm has an anti-hijack mode built in, but by default its disabled.

I've now got it enabled on my car. The doors now lock when the ignition is switched on, and unlock when its switched off.

The alarm handbook gives the relevant details.

What I really want is a device that cuts out the engine say 1 minute after the door is opened if the engine is running. An audible buzzing would prompt you to push a hidden switch which would stop the engine cutting out.

They take the car but it cuts out after a short period as they can't find the button.

 

What you want (I think) is the Clifford Blackjax. This is available as a standalone module that interfaces into your existing alarm and does what you want. If a door is opened when the engine is running, you've got 20 seconds to enter a code on a switch (not just find a hidden switch - the switch is in full view). If you don't, your brake lights pulse along with hazards and you've got 20 seconds before the engine dies utterly and refuses to play until you enter the code.

I have it as part of the Clifford Concept 600. I'd recommend it, as it means if someone nicks your keys they're not going to get far either. Far enough, but not too far.

 

Thanks for the replies, unfortunately Clifford have gone all digital and If I want Blackjack I have to buy the G4 alarm as well. Are there any other similar products that are stand alone?

yep - a 22 foot Burmese Python should do the trick....

 

I agree with Nightmare, but I have to point out that the python needs a couple of weeks rest between hijack attempts for digestive purposes.
