I have just collected my car from a very well known and respected Midlands based tuning company.

The car has had vented/drilled discs fitted with green stuff pads + 205/17 Khumo tyres (buffed ready for hill climbing in April).

FIA homologated rear cage fitted as well, and I just wanted to remind every owner what fantastic cars these are.

I am on my second Impreza (first was a 1994 WRX) this one a 1997 UK Turbo, and I love them to bits.

Great fun, very flattering to the driver and I think one the best "driver's" cars available - every day use and very safe in bad weather.

Just wanted to make my views......thought about changing the Scoob, but what can you get that is so good?

Richard - a very happy Subaru Impreza owner.

If it makes you happy dont change it, Its all down to personal preference.
Ive just sold the Scoob & bought an octavia 4x4 as it stacks cheaper than replacing the Scoob with a newer one.
The basic car is very good although not as taught & nowhere near as quick as the STI 3 but anything from the VW group has access to an amazing amout of mods & with the thousands I had left it will be an interesting project.

Richard

I have a MY 94 STI 1 and it is in the same class as the Lotus Cortina Mk1 which I had many years ago. I loved that car and was very upset at having to sell it.

I had the chance to drive a Mk1 Lotus Cortina a few weeks ago and it was a real shock to realise how cars have improved over the years. The Lotus was still great fun to drive-the A bracket rear suspension model was the best handling one for sure.

As far as the Scooby is concerned, I have not driven a car on the road which I enjoy as much. The performance and handling is outstanding and I can't ever see myself wanting to change it. My car will be of historic interest eventually and I am very proud of it.

Good luck with yours

Les

Cool

Squizz and Les:

Hi Les - Lotus Cortina - Just bought the "Best Rally Cars" video with cars from the 60s 70s and 80s - some great pictures of the Lotus Cortina (one of my favourite Fords!).

Hi Squizz - Scoob is looking great, roll cage means it is a 2 seater now (we cannot have a baby this year - wife is not impressed!)

See you guys soon - will try to get to Japfest.

Richard

was thinking R32 Golf, for reliability and they are still quick but not the same league as the Scoob
