Question

Just looked at my V5 for my 95 WRX which I am currently selling. It has my car as being a 2.0GL and not a WRX. This has been highlight due to a prospective customer doing HPi check on the car.

Is this the same for every WRX or as the DVLA just made an error on mine.

Your information would be much appreciated.

Thanks

it's not uncommon - my first Impreza was registered as a 1.8 GL automatic. DVLA corrected this once I wrote to them. Trouble is that HPI etc are pretty slow at updating their records. I also had to explain to insurance companies every time I got a quote as they searched under the reg number and got the wrong model.
It's not a major problem but unfortunately is not very helpful when you are trying to sell - it is the sort of thing that can put doubt into the buyer's mind. Try contacting HPI and ask them how you can go about getting the info corrected.

Mine says the same. Told the dvla when I got my new plate last month and they said they would change it but the new V5 still says GL Just give them a ring

Imported a MY02 WRX from belgium in Nov 02

It has taken DVLA 4 attempts to get it right on the V5.

Just keep telephoning them until they get it right.
