Get an oil cooler for the box. Have a tendancy to get hot.

Parts not a problem, just use an import specialist. Run of the mill stuff is pretty much carry over Impreza, plugs, filter, etc.

Ins can be higher, being an import, shop around. I got a good deal from Liverpool Victoria, compared to others.

If you intend to mod, be very very careful.

Another good bbs is 'legacyb4' @ yahoo groups, dedicated TT site.
