What's it worth?
Hi guys,
I'm selling my scooby and I was wondering what to put it up for for a quick sale.
It's a '94 L imported WRX. It's had an STi lump out of a '98 car fitted be scooby sport, It also has Koni Shocks, AP Organic clutch, HKS Hyper muffler, HKS centre pipe, HKS induction kit, HKS d.valve, 17" Kosei RG wheels, 335mm big brake conversion, HKS Turbo timer, Sony MD & Cd Changer and is being sold with the reg, L33 WRX. That's obviously on top of the usual A/C, EW, EM etc.
Any help would be appreciated, also any good places to advertise it would be good!
Thanks
Dave

From: up a bit, left a bit, down a bit, to the right no left ahhh just there
£7k
More like 4.5k upwards
Don't take that the wrong way but all the mods count for nothing unless you have a buyer specifcally looking for what you got.
Autotraders full of WRX's starting at 4.5k for L plates, I'd expect to pay 7k for a 97ish UK turbo 2000
All IMHO of course

That's exactly what a buyer would be looking for though, that is the point.
If it has very low mileage (i know the engine isn't genuine)plus extras then it's ok.
Why even entertain a pedestrian UK model when you can have the real thing + extras?
Plus if it has the original bonnet it looks better than the facelift.

The reason people aren't replying is that its not going to be good news. You'll be VERY luck to sell for 7 grand. I think if you get 5 grand you should be happy, but please don't take it the wrong way. Its a buyers market and insurance, import factor and the age of the vehicle and the fact another new model is coming out all goes against it.
The WRX wow factor is outdone by STi's of the same or similar age due mainly to the interior. Best of luck but 7 grand is unlikley to spring huge interest.

About £5k - having just sold my mint STiv4 with full V5 upgrade & loads of mods I can vouch for the fact that used Import prices are in complete free-fall.
My golden rule for selling cars is take off at least £2k from what you think its worth & you will be nearer what its actually worth....also mods mean nothing - you are better off removing them & putting it back to standard before you sell - & then selling the bits on the BBS.

You can import a 95 including shipping sva etc for about £5500. Yours is a 94 but then again, you have changed the engine to a later model and done quite a lot. I would put it up for £6900 and reckon you will get atleast £6500 for it.
The Subaru market has dropped quite a bit. it might be worth taking it to Jap village or Newair imports and see what they would give you. They seem to sell a 94 at £8500 and thats just standard!!! lol

I wouldn't say was 7k is too far off the mark.
I've just had offers of 4.5k for my shed of a 94 L plate wagon (currently advertised for 5k). My car has no mods (well, no good ones anyway), drips oil, needs a new coil, no bucket seats, has higher mileage, very little history.... oh...and most of the folk i've had calling about my car have wanted mods.
I reckon you'll get about 6.5k for it....
