'Subaru was the first Japanese car company to use a name derived from its own language. It refers to a group of six stars - also known by its original Japanese name of mutsuraboshi - in the constellation of Taurus. We'd know them as Pleiades.'

Ironic that the original Jap name for these stars is similar to Mitsubishi!!

 

The original JDM Foresters did not have the stars badge (nor did the Legacy, Vivio & Pleo). That's cos FHI wanted to emphasise the model names, as they're foreign words rather than Japanese.

 

The name Impreza comes from the English word
Impresa which means an emblem or motto on a coat
of Arms or deed of chivalry .

Anyone with 20/20 vision should be able to just about see 7 stars in the Pleiades. There are about 350 thousand in total though.

The 6 stars represent the 6 comapnies know as Fuji Heavy Industries and Subaru is the Japense word for constellation........the stars are taken from the constellation of Taurus......

...and do the Japanese have anything to do with the stars used on the Subaru Impreza badge elsewhere in the world (why not in Japan?)and what do they represent?
Can't remebember if import Foresters have the stars or not.
