Question

Our clicky ignitor button on the oven seems to have stopped working. Any clues as to how it can be fixed?

It is a gas Stoves oven

The Ignitor in stoves ovens are powered by an Industrial duracell battery, if you let me know the model e.g 600si 550bi or range cooker then I will ask a friend who works for them and find out where the battery is mounted in that model, I think that the are underneath the main cavity.

Do the other sparkers still work ie rings and grill?
if so its prob either a failed output on the ignition module or the HT lead to the electrode in the oven has come off/been damaged.
Also, try just bending the eletrode a little, altering the spark-gap and see if it sparks weakly. this is a sign of a dodgy ignition module.

Thanks all

To be clearer, it is neither clicking or sparking.

It should ignite the four rings, the grill, and the oven, but at the mo nothing.

It was fine, but has started playing up since we cleaned the oven (first time in 4 years ) just before Xmas. We used that Mr Muscle spray on moose stuff (Then we at some garlic bread and it tasted of solvent ).

Not sure of the model as it is about 5 years old now.

Cougar - it is a Stoves Newhome 502GS or something, and has a blue battery pack on the back behind a metal cover. The battery is 1.5v DC, and is a KIGASS or somatt

Can you have a word for me, ta

Presume I can just replace this?
