Hi All

I'm stuck as to which circuit to try !!

This years Christmas present was a "Rally Experience" from Halfords (from Firstplace 4, a division of Octagon Motorsports apparently).

Picture on the box looks like escort cosworth.

The choices are Knockhill (....see SIDC last issue) or Oulton park in Cheshire: both about the same distance to travel.

Has anybody been on one of these trips via Halfords…..I want to drive a SCOOBY !! (not mine until I know what I'm doing)

Help would be most appreciated and hope everybody has a peaceful New Year

Midlife….

Craig

Thanks for the reply..The Knockhill website is huge and just had a look around. They seem to use MG's a lot but sell scooby numberplates!?

have a great New year

MCS,

IMHO (and IIRC), the Rally Experience at Knockhill isn't very good.

They use fairly tame Saphire Cosworths and the stage is pretty short (maybe 60 secs when you push it).

It's a while since I did it (and BTW, I wasn't paying ) so my information may be inaccurate.

The MG's you see on the KH site are used on the circuit only.

I'd say, if Chelle recommends Oulton, that'd be good enough for me.

If you go to Oulton but still wonder about KH, come to one of the SIDC track days in the new year - you won't regret it.

Good choice, if they are the same cars, they are 220bhp RWD monsters. They have altered the Special Stages at Oulton Park and I do believe they are better than before

Buy a mag like RallyXS to check out the different rally experience options for one that has an Impreza.
I can also highly recommend the Bill Gwynne rally school (also have a banner add)
I had a go in the GpN spec Impreza and loved it - they also have a MK1 Escort for some great RWD fun.
Trouble is they are based down South which may be too far for you.

Enjoy the experience at Pulton Park and let me know how you got on, I am thinking of going back.

Cheers,

Michelle.

I've done the Rally Experience at Knockhill (in Rwd Saphires) highly recommend it for the grin factor. You only get 4 laps of the track, but its still great fun.
