I've been a reader of Scoobynet for a few months now and got my scooby in sept 02.Bought it from my father-in-law (RB5) he had done the scooby sport back box and removed the centre cat and had a panel replacement filter. I found (new on the market) a pipercross filter that i have not seen anyone else talk about.
Its called the "viper". bit like a 57i kit but has a carbon fibre heatsheild round the filter and a direct air intake from out side. basicly its not taking any air from the engine bay, its all from out side. Has anyone else got one as i feel i'm alone. please don't ask for pics as i have no digi camera.

Its just a heatshield and all it does is attempt to block the heat from the engine bay from getting sucked in. Most people don't bother but some have just made their own heatshield and has shown some good results. As for me, I'm just too lazy to bend and rivet ally. But I think the Viper costs about 160 quid which is why I didn't get it.

Dunno if your version comes with a hose to redirect air from the outside though.

Thumbs up

The theory is sound enough.

£160 on an airfilter though!
