So you guys are telling to turn the boost up..O.K
Moray, if i had the same "guts" as the WRC car i would definately dial few more PSI's but...now it is make it 'till you det it or break it.

Thanks,

George

A question for the Gurus. How high on PSI can i go retaining my current static comp as i want max torque down low? Should i consider getting a stroker kit if i am to preserve low down torque but to also increase the power a bit? Current setup is TF035-14 operating @ 11.7 PSI + full GGR exhaust + intake piping - no Det & low intake temps.

Regards,

George

Cool

This really does depend on the quality of fuel you have available. WRC cars, as an extreme example are running alledgedly 2+bar boost with 2 litre engines running alledgedly more then 10:1 compression ratios, but they run very strictly controlled high quality fuels. If they tried to run on regular super unleaded they would not be able to run nearly that much boost.

A lot will depend on if you intend to run the stock ECU, or re-map.

If you re-map, then there's no reason why you couldn't raise the boost quite a bit.

I'm already using TEK?-forester and i'm quite pleased with the results and I have also taken countless DD logs and so far everything looks fine.I'm more inclined towards uprated internals or a different turbo, its Christmas bonus time, so i'm more open to suggestions Mark!

George

George,

Well if you can have the car re-mapped, you have lots of options.

However, you would need to look at a Tek 3 custom map, this is not something that can be done safely by post.

As far as up rating the internals, or hybrid turbo's are concerned, it would be best to email me, as profile.

Mark.

George, I hear the turbo is quite small on the Forester even compared with the Euro Imprezas. This would put me off more than the compression ratio.

I'm sure someone must have a Euro TD04 that wants to get rid off. Not taking any bids yet but i'm seriously considering.
