It's funny, that stuff is so easy to get over here it is joke... you should see me at the chunnel when I come across they take one look at my passport and practically take the car apart every time...

My old car, a Honda Civic, no laughing please, they would not believe the rear seat did not come up and nearly ripped it out of the car...

 

Whilst watching my New Rally '99 vid last night... all 3 hours in one go, I noticed that on the China Rally the Scoobie had 555 slapped all over them... How come, I thought 555 were only doing F1? Was this a one off job, or was I hallucinating?

 

The cigarette companies see China as a HUGE market place (which it is!) and as they have no marketing bans against Tobacco at the moment it is the ideal place to plaster adverts...

 

Fair enough, makes sense I guess.

I thought that the 555 brand was taking a much smaller role on the BAR F1 car this year. In the testing shots I've seen, the car just has the Lucky Stroke logo on it.

555 is British American Tobaccos Chinese brand and as mentioned before this was a one off.

 

BAR couldn't get the FIA to agree to running one car in 555, the other in lucky strike, hence lasts years abortion of a paint scheme. Anyone who puts a car out that hideous deserves to finish last in the championship.

555 is the asia pacific rim main brand for BAT and has no restrictions on advertising in china, imagine the law suite against BAT etc.that could hit china when it becomes more comercial.

Will make the USA look like peanuts. Tobaco comp's only look ahead enough to there own retirement in IMHO, couldnt care less if they wipe out a generation with cancer.

 

oh by the way. On the video you will see 2 lads jump out in front of the camera when colin McRae crashes (on the rally of wales), thats me and my brother. That was one hell of a big crash.

Got a vid on the group B cars as well... can't believe how much faster they seem... never seen a rally car do a wheelie before!!!
