Gary,

I'm on the 16:00 Oban - Craignure ferry on Friday 11/10.

We'll be staying at the Highland Cottage in Tobe.

Give me a shout if you want to meet up for beer.

Alternatively, look out for a blue STi UK with Numptie stickers.

Gary,

I'm competing although sadly not in a Subaru! We're car 21, a white & blue Nova looks like this......

Come and say hello - we stay in me Mum's house next door to the Western Isles hotel which you can't miss. If you see us upside down in the river (as 2000) help us back on our wheels please.

hope to see you there

Duncan

PS Edited to say that I'm the Jolly Big Nice person (Numptie) and for Alec it's a week on Friday 11th to Sunday 13th. Bring a torch, ski jacket, brolly, midgie cream and suntan lotion. And enter our competion on the Team Brown's Website.

Word of warning guys!

If you want to take your car on the Ferry, better get your butts in gear.
When I booked a week ago there was no space on the ferry Homebound on the Sunday.....

Wish I was going this year

It's now 32 years since I first went for the rally (yes I was very young but my Dad won it for the first few years it ran so I had to be there!) and I really miss being in the Mac every October for a few drams!

Mike

Guys,

as well as the main website - there quite a decent chat going on at the British Rally forum, especially around the very competitive 1600cc class - see HERE

Ill be there servicing for cars 76 (Corsa 1600), 152 (Nova 1400) and 154 (Evo 4) so gonna be busy.

Im staying in Glen Aros area and will be travelling up on Wed (all day!) in a big blue sherpa van.

Its gonna be a long drive! especially as Im going via Lochline not Oban :-)

Anyone seeing the green and white Dukeries MC EZ-Up come over and say hi. Be at all service areas (hopefully) and supporting the bar in one of the pubs in Tober on several nights probably.

Paul..

update....

There's THREE WRC Imprezas in the top ten, Neil McKinnon (10-times winner) has hired one from McKinstry and both Paul Kirtley and Stuart McQueen will be using cars they've just bought. There are nine other Imprezas competing and a raft of Evo's, so we'll have to peddle hard to keep Norma the Nova up with them!

If youre having trouble with ferries, a cheaper option (abbeit slightly longer) is to go via the Corran ferry and then Lochline to Fishnish instead of Oban - Craignure.

You dont have to book for this ferry - just turn up and wait and the road across from Corran to Lochline is wonderful. Did it in a 3 car convoy, Scooby, Golf GTi and Cupra last year and we made a fair bit of progress :-)

Take octane booster , or you should be able to scrounge some off the rally boys.
Numptie ,I'm on the 12.00 ferry from Oban.
Will be in the pub at Dervaig on Friday night and Sat night.
Will be in STi 7 (blue) with Hypnotic window sticker.
Cheers
Gary

Unhappy

Good to meet you too Numptie.
As for the weekend.Nightmare is not the word.We went off on the way over Mishnish locks ,late on Sat night, due to spilt diesel on the road.Luckily the car was completely un damaged after going 30ft off the road and down a ditch.Had to make a report to the Police about the problem , as several other cars went off on the same bend.
Still no harm done, will be back next year.
Worse was to follow when I got home, someone had reversed into my Porsche whilst it was having new speakers fitted.Estimate £4200.00
Think I should do the lottery this week for sure.
Cheers
Gary
