Well f11cked off!

Taken my car in for a Rallitech wing, and sills to be done. They got it on Tuesday, I call on Friday "Oh no, it wont be ready till Tuesday" !!!! <- Thats like a week to spray a wing up. Some excuse about not being able to put it in the oven. Bunch of @rse more like.

In the mean time I have a micra courtesy car, bored sh1tless of banging around in that pile of poo now too.

This must be a common thing to have done, so am I impatient or did yours take like 2 or 3 days?

Andy, mr disgruntelled

btw - Its not with Rallitech themselves, its at a local spray shop

To paint your wing properly it will take about 3 days to complete, they have to prime it (1 day) paint it (1 day) laqueur it (1 day) then fit it, now if you want them to do it quick so the paint comes off
The 1 week is unfortunate because you took it in on a tuesday... but id say much more than that and id be getting hacked off too

Hate to say it but you could find it is being driven this weekend... my mate has a body shop and 2-3 days max... no more. As someone said before do you know the mileage b4 you left it there??? I would check after or go up there and makes sure it is not out at the moment....

Im hoping they wont be driving it, the place is actually owned by a friend of my dads, I think the reason maybe is that they put me to the back of the q cos they hope I wont kick up.

If its done in a day there is no way its been primed, unless you get the spoiler painted in advance then just fitted.

The thing to bear in mind about paintwork is that alot of things can go wrong i.e. reactions in the paint etc, I know I've been there.

I wouldn't want to rush a job or it won't be right.

I've worked in Bodyshops and totally agree with Rallycol, a day, tops!

Is it the sill skirt you're having done? If so there isn't even any need for your car to be there, they could paintt the bits off the car and then fit them at a later date.

"nibbed" is to sand out any dirt or imperfections in the top coat.

Ok point taken I realised if you've got an oven then I suppose it can be done in a day.......but I tell you what ring around some body shops and ask them if you can have your car back the same day

Why the mechanic? I run my own workshop and every car gets treated with the upmost respect...shame that people think like this.

My brother worked for a Ford Main dealer over many years - We serviced all my cars there, free, using the facilities.

I have SEEN what goes on, I have HEARD stories, I have been involved in some skullduggery too!!!

When you leave your car at a garage you leave in in their hands, you either trust or you dont!

Pete

I know what your saying as there are alot of dodgy garages around, just annoy's me sometimes what people think when the likes of me is trying to build up a good reputation.

Hence why we have on tv 'garages from hell' number 600!!

I took my STi V spoiler in to the bodyshop this morning to be painted, they said that it should take a couple of days (I am paying cash )

Benefit is the spoiler is off the car, so I dont have to leave the car with them.

Wink

My front spoiler took nearly a week, but it had to be grafted onto the front bumper and blended in, It's a good job & I'm very pleased with it, at least you got a courtesy car, I had to hike everywhere, or hitch a lift in the works transit, no fun when you've got a little 'un and all the luggage!!
