Question

I have a 93 WRX and it has been fitted with what seems like a Induction Kit, from a manufacturer from Japan.

I have been thinking about getting an ITG panel filter or a while, to increase the quality of the air-flow through.

I am a little confused now. I thought, the filter to be changed was the one near the fuel pump, as indicated in the top corner.

I see, by the other indication, that you can also get ITG filter for this air filter.

I confuse!!!!

Picture courtesy of YA NA, cheers mate!!

I may be being a thick as a Whale omlet here but the top arrow points to your Intercooler

The bottom arrow points at your airbox which already has an ITG sticker on ity so it may already have a ITG filter.

In my experience an induction kit would replace the airbox complete, connecting to the black flexible large dia pipe just undetrt the base of your botton arrow.

Hope this makes sense and helps

Paul

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

right, now we are getting somewhere!!

I knew I signed up to the right forum!!

I'm getting myself confused, ps. not my engine, stole the pic!!!

Right, MY engine has an induction kit, which means, looking at ITG filters is a waste of time.
Can I upgrade the intercooler then for the turbo??? Oh, cheaply too!!!

No problem

Try posting in drivetrain, Is your intercooler Silver like the one shown or black? if you want to uprate then perhaps a FMIC (front mount InterCooler) is the way to go. Drivetrian is the best place old chap.

It's actually black, not like the one in the pic

Aren't FMIC's expensive?!?!??! I want a cheap upgrade to this intercooler, possibly replacing a part to it etc...

Wink

You'd be surprised how many Scooby owners think the bonnet scoop is for the air-intake.

Still, you don't have to know how it works to enjoy it!
