Got a slightly modded Terzo running about 240 bhp with upgraded brakes and revised geometry. Though, he did poach me on a straight when I hesitated before a junction. But he was keeping up in the twisties.

Mate the subaru eats them. Just before i got rid of my std MY01 wrx i pulled up next to one at the traffic lights. He had his window down so did i. We both were two up and they started laughing at me then reviving the hell out of their engine. I could hear his mate say go on to his butty. The lights changed and they gunned it. They got in front about half a car length. I didnt even do a race start and when my turbo kicked in i flew past them. Absolutly pi$$ed myself as i went flying past.I could hear their engine and they were really going for it to. I stopped at the next set of traffic lights and they were silent. My mate shouted accross "Not laughing now are you" then we dumped the clutch off the lights and left them there frowning. Funnest thing i ever saw. That'll teach em. They were like little kids showing off after.

Had an incounter with one on the move. Still beat it but a bit more effort was involved, so tell your mate that he will be surprised next time he comes up against a scooby.

In the title you say wrx and then you refer to it as old shape. That can only mean a classic shaped jap import WRX which have 280bhp if run on 100RON fuel. That wouldn't even be much of a contest, even the boxter s would get beaten easily.

saxoboy
youre wrong
not all classic shapr import wrxs have 280 bhp
they range from 220bhp right up to 280
i have a 96 which puts out in the region of 260 as standard
(less on crappy fuel obviously)
having said that my car would eat a boxster

Similar story to Scrappydo's only it was some bloke and his bird.
Wasted 'em off the lights and proceded to put 75 yards on them over quarter of a mile.
I backed off after that and let him catch up, but he didn't want to, and stayed a respectable distance behind (probably to avoid eye contact) my kids were looking out the back window at him grinning.

Hohohohohohoho.

Wasted a couple of Boxters, not the S thou in a slightly modded MY99, best bit was a sweeping l/hander coming off of the m25 going towards Croydon that i took @ at speed, the boxter bottled it and backed off after that

Having said that it's still kinda down to the drivers at the end of the day.

My 96 STi running with 303 BHP slaughtered a boxter s on the m40. These guys tried to undertake me, HAR what a laugh !! They wont want to embaress themselves again !! On a more factual note a standard sti 0-60/0=100 = 4.6/12.3 Uk spec =5.3/15 secs. Boxter=5.9/14.5 Winner sti.

Wink

My decat MY99 had no probs passing a Boxster S who was not a happy chap as a result, I hit a 50mph limit shortly after and sat at 50mph he came charging up my boot and sat 1ft off my bumper, did the limit until the next dual carriageway and bye bye!!!

Which Boxter?
They make a few, slowish ones and pretty fast ones........
Not an expert but i think the Boxter S is quick.
Think they make a 2.2,2.5 and 3.0 ltr versions......
Which one did your mate buy?

Appologies magnum, I often totally forget that the earlier wrx's had a lot less power.
