Go stand in a freezer LOL!!!!

Seriously though, i think the chatter thing only happens when the dump valve is removed completely, so the turbo cannot dump excess presure on gear changes etc, which isn't a good idea if you want your turbo to last.

I know Andy.F has done this to his MY93 RA......he usually ends up proving us all wrong!!!

Peccy, change to a Forge dump valve, and clock the spring a little.

Thats what a few of us have done.

As for running without a dump valve, only do this if you DONT want your turbo to last very long.

Chatter is not good for the turbo, means you are not getting rid of enough pressure.

Danny - isn't what you've done with the spring almost the same as removing the dump valve anyway?

Yeah basically by tightening the spring you are stopping the turbo from being able to release all the pressure, hence the chattering.

If you ever want to swop your dv for a brand new forge DV (with red and blue springs, blue gives you high boost chatter) let me know

Shimming the Forge dump - if done correctly will get chatter - but it is not from the turbo stalling - it is from the spring being just at the edge of the release pressure.

If you shim it too much, turbo will stall and those nice impellers will be moshing in your engine.
