MattOz,

400bhp isn't impossible... but it will cost a lot of money and time. You will have to go internal in a serous way to get a reliable 400bhp.

Peter Johnson,

What work did your dad do to his car to make 400bhp? It's not just a chip, cone and exhaust change?

Dont be daft Moray;

It had serious engine changes, 2.2ltr, boost through the roof, really large intercooler, Chip, HKS full system exhaust 5" (Really nice sound), like I said, EX Rally car, my dad did nowt but drive it.!!

He has his own garage, and I remember him saying F*ckme I dont even know where the spark plugs are!

Good question, we got one with it, but I dunno where my dad has put it, he might of give it the garage he sold it to.

Read Aug /Sept Banzai magazine. It has a 0 -60 shoot out between a stupendious Impreza STi and a Nissan Sunny GTi-R.

Very impressive.
STi 0 - 60 timed at 4.11 seconds

1000hp is pure cack, its probably 600 at best, the Japanese measure hp differently to the UK, most of the "1000"hp Skylines are nowhere near.

Paul Waites' 640hp GT1 specced Porsche is faster across quarter mile and top speed...surely 1000hp should kill his porker??!!

OK OK, so 400 bhp IS possible from a Scoob. Not much of the original engine left, but it's still possible. I thought about serious hp when I had my STI, but it wasn't really worth the extra cost and the inherint fragility of the upgrades.

Still, I'd love to see the dyno sheet for it.

MattOz,

You're a fair distance from Leeds to get to Harewood Hillclimb to see the Impreza featured in the Banzai magazine go.

It proves how well 400BHP can go !

I saw a mini do 0-100 MPH in about 2.5 seconds a few years ago. It was completely standard 998cc one with standard wheels etc.

Oops forgot to mention that it was parked in a carpark at the top of a cliff when it started, and parked in the sea about 400 feet down when it stopped

Pah, I've seen a car that did 0-200mph in 2.5 secs.

It was a completely standard top fuel dragster.

Blackscooby,

When does the Harewood hillclimb take place? Dates and times would be great. I'd come along and watch.

My mate forwarded me the spec for the WRX!! Here it is:-

Hey guys i got my GT1.........now i know you guys are going to cry when yuh
hear this......my WRX is not running 8.2sec but 7.281sec @ 199mph!!!
Check what i did to it:
Twin Skyline Turbos
Crazy Clutch
6speed Gearbox
Viper Exhaust
Skyline 400R Coilovers
225/50 16s Wheels and Tires
Worked Engine
Skyline Intercooler....front mount
and some other stuff.....too much to mention

She packs 1214Hp........6110.3Ib.Ft of torque at 7700Rpm!!!

Now for the Celica......Flicking Crazy!!!
Best time so far is 10.048sec @ 169Mph
She has 754Hp @ 6600Rpm........4430.8iB.Ft of Torque
I twin turbo charged the little 3S-GTE!!.....not with the Skyline
turbos.....too big had too much lag for the take off, so i used two off of a
Galant VR4......the gearbox comes off of a Castrol Supra......6speed.
Worked Engine also and pretty much the rest is like the WRX.

Ah know fellas like Stephen and Dennis and the boys mus be really
laughing......LOL! But hey like i said Gran Turismo is Gran Turismo come
tess
If ya'll want to get naughty i'll sick the 9sec....slammed 5'' Prelude on
yuh.

I tried to take a pic of the Prelude with my computer's camera but as you
can see....terrible quality.

Later,

6110.3ftlb torque... I think not. ho hum. Sounds like a wind up post to me.

Moray
(Who had 3.8second 0to60mph with a passenger and a full tank on a mildly tweaked road going scooby with nowhere near 400bhp)

August 5th ~ I'll be in my little yellow Pug 205. But the other STi is likely to be there, along with ahem a "bloody quick" Cosworth and a fantastic EVO5.

Saturday 8th Sept ~ My Blackscooby will be getting an airing at Harewood
Sunday 9th Sept ~ Back in the Pug 205 GTi.

I think RUM is coming along on Sunday 5th Aug and a few others by all accounts..

Cheers

Mark
