Encountered a new BMW M5 the other day while driving my UK MY01 old shape. I have to say I was very impressed by the acceleration it had (though not by his over taking on solid white lines!). It was seriously quick.

M5 is 5.0ltr V8 400hp - seriosly quick car for its size!!. 0-60 in 5.4 according to BMW although a few magazines got it to sub 5 secs!!
Any BMW with 4 exhausts is going to be quick!

Have an MY00 (known as Classic shape
) registered on a Y plate in 2001 (March)......
Wanted the old shape. Nightmare at times explaining to insurance companies, they always want to call it a WRX.

I had exactly the same problem, mine was registered in 2001 but the insurance company were convinced it was a bug eye
