I am unhappy with my car since i have had it the tyres have all worn out the winscreen washer bottle keeps loosing fluid and i continually have to put fuel in it to keep it on the road. The dealership keeps fobbing me off saying that these are not covered under the warranty.

That's not all, The side lights flash when i set and unset the alarm - i have taken it back numerous times only to be told it is a quirk of the car - F***ing cheek of it.

There's more - I have a surging problem - The engine revs like mad and whines and whistles above 3000rpm right to the red line where it abruptly cuts in and out 'till i release the throttle - again they claim it is a characteristic of turbocharghing and not their problem

So much for the Subaru warranty and the shoddy dealers!

I find the people on this board rude, obtuse and thick christ they even let women post and we all now they should be doing the cleaning.

They all seem obsessed and completely biased towards a single make of car. I cannot imagine why i frequent it.

BTW what do you think to a new Beemers - like the cars and the 'actually i do own the road' image but most importantly, the dealers seem arrogant as hell and the other owners would not give me the time of day (meant to say **** on me if i was on fire but though i had better not) - I should fit right in.

Thanks for your replies in advance you rice-rocket owning, chocolate-piston-engined *****!

BTW#2 Please feel free to move to muppetdom or close as required - just letting off steam (and it is not meant to offend in any way)

Paul

Your life sounds like a great deal of fun...

Wanna share more of it with us ?

We all know what Subaru (and every other brand, by the way) dealers are like, but we just have to live with them (and kill the F***** if they're rude).

I know the BMW dealer in Luxembourg, and they're a real pain in the hoop !!! It's incredible what they charge you for a simple oil change... So, go get a beemer, and you still have a chance to get treated like dirt, pay twice as much for service, but you're right about fuel... Most have an 80L tank, and therefore you'll have 1 more day between re-fills

Cheers

Max

God that sounds just like what's wrong with mine. Apparently there's been a subaru technical bulletin about it but the dealers keep it secret because they only exist to take money and **** us off.

Almost all BMWs (the Ultimate Driving Machine) are sold without the buyer ever taking a test drive, but they're the Ultimate Driving Machine so where do I sign up?

Oh, they probably won't allow me to sign up. Is there a waiting list that I can pay to be on?

The car must be perfect, so if I don't like it I must be sub-human and it will all be my fault. In fact, they really ought to make this a condition of ownership. It's probably on the same piece of paper that gives ownership of the road.

So that'll be just like nearly all the P1s then

I mean how many P1 owners ordered on spec - and how many decided it wasn't for them after taking a test drive

I own a Beemer and a Scoob - so, arrogant and narrow minded - what a combination!

BMW..... And I larf my ruddy ead orf! I, like many of you have experienced the attitude of some of the 15 squillion trillion Beemer drivers on the road. They can keep them.... Not my cup of tea at all. No, I'm not jealous in any way, just each model seems to be pretty well cloned from the next.

AAHHHHH!!!!!

So that explains it. Ive been trying to
testdrive a M3 for the last two weeks in
Edinburgh, but so far no joy (have contacted
both official dealers). If most BMW's are
bought without being taken for a test drive
that would explain my problem. Thanks for
the helpful pointer chiark ;-)

GRRR...Bloody BMW dealers.."£$!"

Paul,

I was in the same boat as you a while ago when they released the 01.

I looked at BMW, the new 330ci is very nice and within my price range, looks really good with a great interior and great refinement. but at the end of the day(and me being a speed freak) its just not fast. enough. you would need an M3 and i just can't afford it.

Evo 6's and 7's, the 6 looks great and is one great car, the 7 is even better but looks worse than a 01. but to top it off they just don't have that sound of a scoob.

Boxster, all i can say is too slow, poor mans 911 and a girls car.

A Focus Cosworth would run close but, its not here until 2004 and it won't have that sound.

Then there's the P1, great car but, to buy a new one you must be mad(I'll get my coat). Its just too old now, at the moment its OK but in a year or so's time when the tide finally turns(and its happening now)it will just seem like a old car, albeit a great one.

If i had a little bit more money then it would have to be a Tuscan or M3, but i have'nt.

And all in the meantime i am coming to terms with the 01. With Petes car looking AB-FAB and the UK300 my minds well and truely made-up.(just bonnet vents to go, well i think it needs them)

So at the end of the day i've stuck with what i know(uk300)

Theo,

I was going to ask what you meant by your "moderators have contempt for normal users" comment... but I can't really be bothered as I'd probably have to read the reply and nothing you say could be worth the time it would take for me to read it.

Moray,

I know you won't bother to read this, but still ... Tut tut

This from a man that says (quote) :

>>I am getting to like my m3 better every time i drive it.

(unquote)

Last moderator to drive a Scoob switches off the lights LOL

Theo

PS: forgot to say: brilliant post Paul, made me chuckle!
PS2: hate those unspilled beans Adam was talking about in the other thread

I have a BMW 330i Touring with many extras including sports suspension and 18" wheels in metallic black - brilliant car for my 40k miles per year.

My wife has a RB5 with scoobysport full system, filter, ICE and clear indicators all round (will soon have brakes, suspension and bumpsteer mods when time permits) - brilliant car for my weekend playing with bikers!

I love both cars for different reasons - I must be arrogant and narrow minded!
