Senior AP is it the one up at Westaways?
I have not seen it although i understand it is mint.
needless to say you pay a premium if from a Scoob dealership.
As an import i would ahve thought it only cost around 17K to purchase from new so i would have thought 13K

What's it worth privtely.
2000 X reg Turbo 2000. Euro import (identical to UK car in every respect). Dark Blue Mica, A/C, 23k miles, FSSH, 2 owners, tracker, totally standard....Mint. I really mean "MINT". I'm considering buying it and I really cannot emphasise how MINT it is - the seller knows this aswell !!
The car is literally perfect.
So.......a price??????

If its any use I just got my DBM '00 for £15k with 5k on the clock. No aircon but 17" Prodrive 7's in Gold which are £350 a piece with a tyre so worth more than an a/c I guess. No tracker either but Cat 1 Cobra Alarm dealer fitted and extended 2 year warranty (so 3 in total with initial 1 year manufacturers).

14K MAX, I have a similar car, but royal silver with prodrive spoiler and 17" speedlines with 11000 miles, still mint condition, IF I was looking to sell I would price mine at £14 K as a start point and come down (slightly) from there.
Used imports are an interesting debate.
If someone pay £17k new for a car and then sells it a year or so later, they will want to sell it at the same price as a UK used car.
If you put two cars, almost exactly the same together but ones from Europe and ones a UK, both for the same price then people will buy the UK one.
But why, they are the same car no difference at all (except number plates etc), the reason, why should someone be able to sell there import for almost the same that they paid for it. Buying a used import you want to make the same savings they did, its a bit "cut your nose off despite your face", but you can see the point.

because cars depreciate. It has nothing to do with what they were worth when you bought it. A car will depreciate at xx% per year.
So the import will infact depreciate slower due to a lower purchase price.
If I was buying an import I'd base my price on the rate of depreciation from a UK model and apply that percentage to the import.
It's not a case of he paid less so should I. The %age value is the same as a UK model.
All IMO of course

Euro imports in MY00 have a one year waranty, not a 3 year extendable waranty, so that particular car is now out of waranty and cannot have it extended to make it upto 5 years. Thats why they are cheeper second hand.
You of course could buy an aftermarket warranty, but thats no where near as comprehensive as the IM waranty.

I wouldn't really know as I haven't had to claim, it seems you register the problem with your dealer who forward it to IM who in turn send it on to Subaru Benelux, who then agree/refuse the claim. Seems a bit long winded I agree but as I paid about £15200 for the car I'm not complaning.

Don't really know enough to place an accurate value on the car, but here's a couple of points which might help. Back in May I was looking and saw several cars of very similar spec priced at £16k. However, these where dealer prices so you have to consider that firstly, you don't end up paying the sticker price (substantial amounts less in my experience), and second, you would expect to pay more for the benefits of buying from a dealer. So at this stage I think the same car bought privately should be had for £500 to a grand less than the dealer's sticker price. Then there's the issue of it being an import. I would imagine that if you needed to trade in the car you're looking at a dealer would give you less for it on the basis that it's an import. So whether you intend to get rid of it at a later date or not, it's worth bearing this in mind, or at least finding out for yourself how dealers view the value of a UK car vs an import. Then there's the number of owners. An extra owner will bring the value down a few hundred quid. So, add all this up and you're looking at quite a bit less than the £16k that some dealers were asking for very similar UK cars back in May. Good luck.
