Default Hawk Interior Dome Light

So the interior dome light bulb (12v 8w festoon 31mm) decided to go home this morning. It came on then went out after about 5 seconds (doors still open etc)

I've now replaced the bulb with a 12v 10w festoon, which hopefully won't cause any issues, it's never on for long etc. Please advise if it really has to be 8w....
The dome light switch seems to function fine.
However, the 2 map lights don't come on when I unlock / open the doors....but did they ever?

It's not my daily car and I simply don't know if the map lights by the rear view mirror ever did come on when I unlock it? Crazy I know!

They work fine manually, but should they come on when I unlock? I'm pretty sure they shouldn't...so any reassurance would be appreciated.

They are powered from the same fuse as the Dome light but directly from the battery and have individual on/off switches, so no they don't come on with the dome light.

I have been considering this.
I have an Audi A4 B7 2006 and recently got some Auxito LED's from ebay for the reversing lights, they boasted "Canbus error fee" but they weren't, the Audi thought the bulbs had blown or weren't fitted as they draw such little current. The bulbs flashed as the car did it's checks and the bulb warning came up on the dash for both bulbs within seconds. Different LED's available so still looking at this route.

So, complained to the seller, got a full refund and wasn't asked to send the bulbs back so boshed them straight into my 2000 MK4 Golf lol where they work a treat

For the Scoob, I take it there's no chance of any errors, like the Golf where there's no bulb checking system etc?....
