Interior light is not coming on with the doors although it can be switched on fine with the switch. The car has a Gemini alarm fitted (which I believe is not standard) so I am not sure if that is a factor. Checked the fuses and the fuse for the interior light also operates the clock which is working fine. Has anyone got any thoughts please?

 

Have you switched the switch in the middle of the interior light in the middle of the car?

Yes I have read the handbook and spent 10 years as a mechanic so I do have some idea of what I am doing!

 

are the door switches working?

 

Well the light on the dashboard indicating an open door comes on as it should.

 

I doubt its the security system, I take it your car is a late classic (maybe an MY00?)
So with that interior light in the middle of the car, between the front and rear seats, no issues switching on normally?

Its a 2006 WRX Hawkeye, the light can be switched on with the switch and the door open light on the dash works correctly - just the interior light won't come on with any door.
