Default Rough Runner Legacy 2.0R 2005

My 2.0R 167BHP Legacy has started to show running issues. Brief explanation as follows
-Last couple months not starting on the button, not bad as such but not right.
-Last week filled up with 'Momentum' unleaded and on way back from filling station I noticed distinct lack of power on pick up. Had to use gears to get her going.
- On the way home started to stall when putting foot on clutch and wouldn't bump start when I dropped the clutch in 2nd gear, so had to use starter motor to get it running.
- Took it to garage this Monday and it ran ok to get there but still feels like a noticeable 'hold back' happening. It's not misfiring though.

Mechanic thought it might be a vacuum leak but it wasn't and the replacement plugs never made any difference. It needs MOT so he's going to get that done and see if emission check shows up anything but I'm not optimistic about that tbh.

I'm thinking possibly a tank of dirty petrol although I guess that's possibly unlikely, maf sensor, or blocked fuel filter?
Other than those possibilities has anyone got any direct experience with a similar issue or any thoughts I might tell the garage?

Any help gratefully received 👍👍

Injector related issue?
Hopefully garage can diagnose.
Only experience I had with a rough running petrol engine I used redex and it seemed to sort it out but this was many years ago.
Good luck.

Garage don't seem to have any ideas. They are suggesting getting it to a Subaru specialist, so not very helpful really.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for half an hour?
